Paul was busy establishing his street credit to the people of Corinth and was also establishing some major points of theology. He outlined that our apostleship, our sainthood, holiness come from God. We are all redeemed through Christ and God is faithful. Those are just a few points that Paul is making and setting forth for the groundwork of the letter.

Paul uses an established letter writing format and sets a greeting of thanksgiving. Take some time to read some of the thanksgiving notes in other letters. What is the tone and encouragement in this letter? What is Paul thankful about concerning the Corinthians? Share in a post your thoughts about what a thanksgiving to Tracy UMC or your church would focus on.
